If you were born post 1990's and have no context for what "stay tuned" means, it is a 20th century expression used to encourage viewers of network television not to change the channel and to continue watching their desired program after a commercial break. "Tuning" refers to the practice of getting to your feet, ambling to the TV set and fiddling with the aluminum foil wrapped antenna until the picture bears some resemblance to the projection of human life forms, emerging from a snowstorm of static like Han Solo on his trusty tauntaun. If you don't know what a TV channel is because you only speak Netflix, I'll just be over here in my rocking chair eating sunflower seeds and imitating Harry Caray in a blissful haze of nostalgia.
